Established in 2013, the Weaver and Sandstone Cycle Forum was set up by local bike users and Cheshire West and Chester councillors.
The forum was constituted to draw together the various clubs, groups, organisations and individuals with an interest in promoting cycling in north Cheshire. The forum aims to work with local and national organisations as a way of co-ordinating local initiatives and user-demands that aspire to the above objective.
The forum's meetings are attended by:
- local people with a diverse range of recreational, health and utility interests in cycling (all abilities) known as Cycle North Cheshire;
- representatives of local cycling and related businesses;
- representatives and/or guests of local/national organisations (eg parish councils, local highway authorities, Cycling UK, Sustrans, British Cycling)
Cycle North Cheshire is a group representing those with an active interest in promoting cycling in north Cheshire and which has represenatives on the forum. Cycle North Cheshire campaigns for improvements to cycle infrastructure.
The Weaver and Sandstone Cycle Forum meets on the second Tuesday of every second month, usually at the Princeway Medical Centre in Frodsham, but occasionally elsewhere.
