Historical Frodsham Railway Station

railwaystationThe Station was built in 1849 for the Birkenhead, Lancashire and Cheshire Junction Railway Company and originally incorporated a stationmaster’s house. In 1893 the station house was moved en-bloc further away from the platform. This photograph taken circa 1900 shows the arrival of a steam commuter train and a Victorian canopy on the station which unfortunately is now sadly lost.

Listed Grade II (1849–50) - The former stationmaster's house is attached to the station. The building in brick with stone dressings and a slate roof, and has two storeys, with a single-storey wing at each end. The building is in Jacobean style, with shaped gables. The windows are mullioned.
